Pruning Branches Around Utility Lines
Usually the county is responsible for trimming branches that have overgrown into power-lines but occasionally we have to handle a call like this. Before we go forward, we’d like to stress that you should never, ever go near power-lines or attempt to trim the area on your own. It could kill you or severely incapacitate you for the rest of your life. Please leave the power-line tree trimming to the county or experts.
We refer to this type of pruning as Line clearing and use special equipment so our workers aren’t shocked. We also have special safety procedures regarding a worker’s distance to the power-lines and what not. Our equipment is insulated and we always go into the job assuming that the lines are charged to the maximum voltage.
Protective equipment is worn and we will only provide this type of work in specific weather conditions when it’s safest.
